Last Chance Motel

about

A guitar. A voice. A motel room somewhere off the map. This isn’t a brand. It’s not content. There’s nothing to sell, nothing to prove. Just songs – written on the road, in the dark, on the edge of something lost. Welcome to Last Chance Motel. One last stop before the unknown.

The musician

After years of wandering between cities, small stages, and forgotten motels, David Cox now calls France home. Writing and performing under the name Last Chance Motel, his songs blend folk simplicity with a storyteller’s heart, capturing the in-between spaces of life — places where dreams, regrets, and resilience quietly collide.

I once stayed in a motel called Last Chance

A forgotten dot in the Colorado dust, a place where the neon buzzed louder than the traffic.
It felt like a final outpost before the mountains swallowed the horizon.
Decades later, the memory stayed with me — the idea of one last stop, one last breath, before you step into the unknown.
That’s what these songs are:
Last chances. First steps. Roadside prayers scribbled in cheap notebooks.

I write because I have to.

Not to climb charts, not to build followers, not to sell an image.
I write to understand the questions that don’t have answers.
I play because sometimes the guitar says what I can’t.
And I share these songs because maybe — just maybe — someone else needs to hear them too.
